I spent 24 hours in Amtrak Business Class, riding the train from San Francisco to Seattle.

Honestly, the Business Class Section wasn’t much different from the regular coach class on the Amtrak Coastal Starlight. Would I recommend the train? Yes. But for a trip that long, I’d recommend a sleeper car, maybe.

What are some of the scenic highlights of the Coast Starlight train journey from San Francisco to Seattle, and which months are particularly recommended for taking this journey?

Amtrak’s Coast Starlight is one of the most scenic train rides in America. The journey from San Francisco to Seattle in Amtrak’s Business Class is undoubtedly a 24-hour experience that one should add to their bucket list.

The train departs from San Francisco’s iconic Emeryville Station, which is only a short ride away from the city. The initial leg of the journey will take you across the San Francisco Bay area, giving you a glimpse of the Golden Gate Bridge, Oakland, and Berkeley. As the train moves along, the scenery changes to picturesque farmlands and forests, taking you away from the hustle and bustle of the cities.

Once on board, Business Class passengers have access to the Pacific Parlour Car, an exclusive lounge with comfortable seating, free Wi-Fi, and complimentary beverages. The car also has a viewing area where passengers can take in the stunning views of the California coastline.

One of the main highlights of the journey is the journey through the Cascade Mountains, where passengers can enjoy magnificent views of Mount Shasta and Mount Rainier. The train travels through dark tunnels and over bridges, taking you on a ride that’s nothing short of adventurous. The views are particularly stunning during the winter months when the mountains are covered in snow.

Business Class passengers are offered complimentary meals, which include breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is freshly prepared on board and is of excellent quality. The train has a cafe car where passengers can buy snacks and drinks throughout the journey.

As the train reaches Seattle, passengers can take in the sights of the city and relax before disembarking. Overall, the experience of traveling on the Coast Starlight in Business Class is second to none. The service is exceptional, and the journey is scenic and comfortable. It is an unforgettable adventure that should be on every train enthusiast’s list.
